The specific services included in each package are determined by the published package description and the customer's approved quote or agreement.
Additional manuscript work, specialized formatting, extensive revisions, or services exceeding the approved scope require a separate written quote and authorization.
EPS may update future package prices, but already accepted agreements remain subject to their agreed pricing unless lawfully modified.
7. Manuscript Requirements
Authors must provide the materials, information, instructions, and approvals necessary to complete their projects.
Editing, typing, manuscript development, and formatting are separate services unless expressly included in the purchased package.
Manuscripts exceeding the selected package's word limit may require an additional charge or package adjustment.
Requests exceeding the approved scope must be reviewed and authorized by management before additional work is performed.
Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy, legality, and completeness of their manuscripts.
8. AI-Assisted Publishing
EPS may provide approved AI-assisted manuscript development, drafting, editing, rewriting, and other related services.
Clients will be informed when AI-generated content is included in their project and must authorize that service.
Authors are responsible for reviewing and approving the final manuscript.
EPS does not guarantee the accuracy, originality, copyright eligibility, or publication approval of AI-generated material.
EPS and the author must comply with applicable publishing-platform requirements, including disclosure of AI-generated materials where required.
EPS may use approved third-party technologies to complete these services, consistent with the Privacy Policy and applicable author permissions.
9. Copyright and Author Ownership
Authors retain ownership of the original manuscripts and creative materials they lawfully own.
EPS does not acquire ownership of an author's original manuscript merely by providing publishing services.
Authors grant EPS limited permission to access, reproduce, edit, format, and prepare submitted materials as necessary to fulfill the contracted services.
Ownership and permitted uses of commissioned cover designs, stock images, licensed artwork, and other newly created deliverables will be determined by the applicable written agreement.
Authors must obtain appropriate permission for third-party copyrighted materials.
EPS may reject material that reasonably appears to violate intellectual property rights or applicable laws.
10. Royalties and Publishing Accounts
Books for incarcerated authors may be published through EPS-managed publishing and distribution accounts.
EPS receives applicable publishing royalties on behalf of the author and records the amounts attributable to each author.
General-public authors are expected to establish and maintain their own publishing and distribution accounts.
Royalties are received and managed directly by the author through the applicable platform.
EPS does not collect or retain a percentage of general-public author royalties as compensation for its standard publishing assistance.
Royalties received by EPS are distributed to the respective authors on a monthly basis according to the signed publishing agreement, platform payment schedules, applicable deductions, and approved payment instructions.
EPS will maintain accounting records of royalties received, authorized deductions, payments made, and outstanding author balances.
EPS does not claim ownership of an author's original manuscript solely because it administers publishing royalties.
11. Proofs, Revisions, and Publication Approval
Authors will receive proofs and revision opportunities according to their selected package and signed agreement.
Revisions outside the agreed scope may require additional fees.
Authors must review and approve final manuscripts, covers, and other publication materials.
Documented author approval or other valid authorization is required before EPS submits a book for publication.
Changes requested after final approval may incur additional charges.
EPS will make reasonable efforts to correct verified errors attributable to its work, consistent with the agreement and applicable law.
12. Payments and Fees
Payment is required according to the applicable service listing, approved quote, invoice, or agreement.
EPS may accept approved electronic payments, credit or debit cards, money orders, or other authorized methods.
Where permitted by EPS, postage stamps may be accepted for specifically approved transactions.
Deposits, payment installments, balances, and deadlines for publishing projects are stated in the written agreement.
EPS may suspend work for unpaid balances, subject to applicable law and contractual requirements.
Charges outside an agreed scope require customer authorization before work begins.
13. Refunds, Cancellations, and Account Credits
All sales are final. EPS generally does not offer monetary refunds or account credits for customer-requested cancellations, changes of mind, or decisions not to proceed with a purchased service.
This policy is subject to applicable law, the agreed service terms, and the exceptions described below.
Customers who voluntarily cancel a service are not automatically entitled to a refund or account credit.
Any statutory cancellation or refund rights will be honored.
Services completed in accordance with the approved agreement are generally nonrefundable.
Customer dissatisfaction alone does not automatically establish entitlement to a refund or credit. However, customers may request review of defective, incomplete, or incorrectly performed services.
When EPS is responsible for an error, fails to complete an agreed service, or cannot fulfill a purchased service, management will review the circumstances.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, EPS may:
Any calculation for partially completed work will be based on the agreement, documented work performed, deliverables provided, authorized expenses, and applicable legal requirements.
Monetary refunds are issued only in limited circumstances, including when EPS cannot perform an agreed service, an incorrect payment requires reimbursement, management approves an exception, or applicable law requires a refund.
A legally required monetary refund will not be replaced by an account credit without lawful authorization.
Account credits are issued only when authorized by EPS management or otherwise required as an applicable remedy.
Eligible credits may be used toward approved future EPS services.
EPS's preferred redemption period is twelve (12) months from issuance, but this period applies only when legally permissible.
Credits qualifying for longer protection under applicable gift-certificate, stored-value, or consumer-protection laws remain valid for the legally required period.
EPS will not impose inactivity or maintenance fees on credits.
The credit amount, issuance date, applicable expiration date, and terms will be recorded and communicated to the client.
Credits are not transferable without EPS approval and are not redeemable for cash except where required by law or approved by management.
Refund and Credit Requests
Requests must be submitted through an approved EPS communication channel with sufficient information to identify the customer, transaction, and concern.
Management will review the request and communicate the determination.
Nothing in this section waives any consumer protection, refund, chargeback, or contractual remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
14. Processing and Completion Times
Completion estimates vary by service, project complexity, materials received, payment status, staffing, institutional restrictions, and third-party processing.
EPS will make reasonable efforts to complete services within the communicated timeframe.
Estimated completion dates are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in a written agreement.
EPS will make reasonable efforts to notify affected customers of significant delays.
15. Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree to:
Provide truthful and accurate information.
Submit only authorized service requests.
Provide materials they own or are permitted to use.
Comply with applicable correctional rules and laws.
Make required payments.
Review proofs and approve deliverables promptly.
Treat EPS employees and representatives respectfully.
Refrain from fraudulent, threatening, abusive, or unlawful conduct.
EPS may decline, suspend, or terminate services when materially necessary because of policy violations, subject to contractual obligations and applicable law.
16. Privacy and Confidentiality
EPS collects and processes information necessary to provide approved services.
Information may be accessed by authorized employees, contractors, service providers, and publishing platforms when necessary to fulfill customer requests.
Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
EPS will not intentionally disclose unpublished manuscripts publicly without appropriate authorization.
Read our Privacy Policy for more information.
17. Third-Party Platforms
EPS may use third-party payment processors, publishers, technology providers, mailing services, and business-management systems.
These providers may have separate terms and privacy policies.
EPS is not responsible for third-party decisions outside its reasonable control, but remains responsible for its own obligations under the applicable agreement and law.
18. Website and Intellectual Property
The EPS business name, logo, website content, original company materials, and proprietary designs belong to EPS or their respective licensors.
Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is prohibited.
This section does not transfer ownership of customer-owned manuscripts or creative works to EPS.
19. Prohibited Activities
Customers and visitors may not use EPS services to:
Commit fraud or illegal activities.
Circumvent correctional institution restrictions.
Harass or threaten others.
Submit unauthorized copyrighted materials.
Gain unauthorized access to business systems.
Misuse customer or employee information.
Distribute malicious software.
Interfere with normal website operations.
EPS may take reasonable action to prevent misuse.
20. Service Disclaimers
EPS provides services according to the applicable agreement and reasonable professional standards.
Except as expressly agreed or legally required, EPS does not guarantee specific results, commercial success, distribution-platform approval, correspondence responses, or uninterrupted third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes legal duties or consumer protections that cannot be waived.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, EPS will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Any limitation of liability will not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including circumstances involving legally protected consumer remedies.
Any project-specific limitations must be consistent with the signed agreement and applicable law.
22. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Customers are encouraged to contact EPS directly regarding concerns about services, billing, publishing, or contractual obligations.
EPS will make reasonable efforts to review complaints and resolve disputes fairly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise.
Legal proceedings must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction and venue under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms restricts nonwaivable legal rights.
23. Changes to Terms
EPS may revise these Terms to reflect changes in services, operations, or legal requirements.
Updated terms will be posted on the website with a revised effective date.
Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise legally agreed.
Existing signed agreements remain governed by their applicable terms unless lawfully modified.
24. General Provisions
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply where legally permissible.
Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a permanent waiver.
The applicable signed service or publishing agreement supplements these Terms. If a project-specific signed agreement conflicts with a general provision, the signed agreement controls for that project, subject to applicable law.
